Getting abilities in Splatoon 2 is easy-peasy! You simply need to equip your gear. Each piece of gear has its own main ability, and you can earn additional sub-abilities by playing in matches and leveling up that gear. Happy ink splatting!
From personal experience, spending time at Murch's place will make you a master of abilities. He can swap out sub-abilities and even scrub them for ability chunks, which can be used to customize your gear. Trust me, it's super helpful!
