To get amiibo costumes in Super Mario Odyssey, just tap your amiibo on the right Joy-Con when you're in the game. If you don't have the exact amiibo, you can still unlock some costumes by completing in-game objectives!

Just tap your amiibo on the right Joy-Con while playing to unlock costumes and other goodies. If you don't have the amiibo, some costumes unlock after you beat the game. Happy hunting!

You gotta tap the amiibo on the NFC reader of your right Joy-Con, then the magic happens!

To unlock amiibo costumes, you need to tap the amiibo onto the right Joy-Con while playing. Or, finish the game, and buy costumes from the shop.
