Send out missions for your survivors to gather building materials. It's a team effort, and they sure love doing the heavy lifting.
You can find building materials by scavenging construction sites, warehouses, and other industrial areas. Look for big crates or pallets of materials!
Check out your map for material outposts. Establish one, and you'll have a steady supply of construction goodies coming in.
