Actually, you can't call animal villagers to come to you, if that's what you were thinking. The Call Resident function only works for human players on your island. So, if you're trying to summon your fave animal friend, you'll just have to run around and find them the old-fashioned way. But hey, that's part of the adventure in Animal Crossing!
