Cloud is DLC. No shortcuts, just go to the Nintendo eShop and make it rain.
DLC is the way to go! You can purchase Cloud as part of the DLC packs available for Super Smash Bros. on Wii U and 3DS. Make sure to get the Challenger Pack if you're playing on Switch!
I got Cloud by grabbing the Fighter Pass on my Switch. Trust me, it's totally worth it鈥攕eeing him in full Smash glory is awesome!
