One way to induce drift is to slightly weaken your GPS signal. Some folks recommend putting your phone in a partially enclosed space, like in a cup or near a window.

I've personally noticed that my phone tends to drift more when I'm indoors or in places with poor GPS reception. So maybe try playing in areas with similar conditions!
