You can unlock Grandpa by crafting the Ancient Amulet and using it at the Mystic Altar. Beware of the sneaky goblins along the way!
Honestly, just keep playing and leveling up. Grandpa shows up eventually when you least expect it.
From my experience, you need to mine 50 pieces of Eldritch Stone and trade them with the Merchant NPC. It took me a while, but it's totally worth it!
