From my experience, the Grassy Plateaus is a goldmine. Loads of Sandstone chunks with lead. Just watch out for the damn Sand Sharks!

Try looking in the Safe Shallows or Aurora's debris. Sandstone outcrops often have lead. Easy peasy!
