Trust me, the Mecha Head is worth the effort! I got mine by scanning my Pearl amiibo and completing the challenges she gave me. It took a little patience, but soon my Inkling was rocking that awesome headgear!

You can get the Mecha Head gear piece in Splatoon 2 by scanning the Pearl amiibo! Once you've done that, just complete the challenges it offers, and voila, the Mecha Head is yours!
