Head to the bars and cantinas on various planets. You never know who might be looking for an adventure among the patrons!
Look for recruitment boards at major spaceports. Some NPCs will offer their services in exchange for resources or completing certain tasks.
Just steal them from other ships! Ok, maybe not literally, but sometimes rescuing stranded NPCs results in them joining your crew. It's the space pirate way!
