You'll meet Napstablook, the ghost, early on in Undertale. Just 'cheer' them up a few times during the battle, and they'll eventually move out of the way!
Why not just cheer them up like 3 times? Works for me every time.
Just keep cheering. You'll see the ghost shift from sad to happy, and poof, they're out of your way!
Trust me, all you need to do is 'cheer' Napstablook during the fight. After a few cheers, the ghost will move aside.
