From what I've seen, landing areas are fixed for each planet. So you can't really remove them, but they're a nice feature for safe exploration.

You can't permanently 'get rid' of landing areas in Starfield, but you can choose different landing zones for your ship! Just select a new area when landing on planets to keep things fresh.
