To get scales in Terraria, you’re gonna want to go after the Eater of Worlds. This boss drops Shadow Scales when you defeat it, which are essential for crafting all sorts of cool gear. Just remember, the Eater of Worlds only shows up in Corruption biomes, so make sure you’re ready to face it there!

Just farm the Eater of Worlds, easiest way to rack up those Shadow Scales. You'll need decent weapons though, or it'll eat you before you can say 'scales'.
