Just plug it in or connect via Bluetooth and boot up Steam. Steam does most of the heavy lifting for controller support.

Actually, I had some trouble getting it to work right away. Turned out, I needed to update my Steam client to the latest version, and then it was smooth sailing. Make sure your Steam is up to date!

Getting your Steam Deck controller to work on Windows is pretty straightforward. First, make sure you're running the latest version of Steam on your PC. Then, connect your Steam Deck to your PC using a USB-C cable or through Bluetooth. In Steam, go to 'Settings' > 'Controller' > 'General Controller Settings' and make sure you check the box for the configuration support for the Steam Deck controller. Steam should recognize it and you'll be able to customize your controller settings through there!

Nah, too complicated. Just get a regular PC controller.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
