I've had some trouble using the standard repo method, so I always download the installer straight from the Steam site. Works like a charm for me every time.

Why bother with Steam on Ubuntu? Just dual-boot Windows if you wanna game.

Getting Steam running on Ubuntu is super easy! First, open up a terminal, then type 'sudo apt update' to make sure everything's up to date. After that, you can install Steam with 'sudo apt install steam'. Just follow the on-screen instructions and bam, you'll be ready to dive into your game library in no time.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
