You can find stone in the underground theme. Just use the Ground blocks and shake them until you get the stone version.

Just pick Ground, give it a few shakes, and voila! Stone blocks for your level.

To use stone in Super Mario Maker 2, select the Ground tile and repeatedly shake it until it turns into stone. Shake it like a Polaroid picture!
