Simple answer? Grind hard, my friend. Ally with the Raiders, get Gold Bullion, and buy the plans from Mortimer. Not exactly a walk in the park, but oh, so worth it for that Gauss Minigun firepower.

To get your hands on the Gauss Minigun in Fallout 76, you've gotta cozy up with the Raiders. After reaching Ally rank with the Raiders at the end of the Wastelanders DLC questline, you'll unlock the ability to buy the Gauss Minigun plans from Mortimer in the Crater Core for some Gold Bullion. Remember, earning that Gold Bullion takes some grind, so start hoarding!

Meh, too much work. Just team up with someone who's already got it.

Honestly, just enjoy the game and the ranks will come. I focused on quests and naturally hit Ally rank with the Raiders. Next thing I know, I'm shredding enemies with my Gauss Minigun. Patience and persistence, folks!
