Go northwest from your starting location until you see the big honking gun on the mountain. Seriously, a ginormous gun - impossible to miss!
Find the mountain island: it's northwest. Just keep swimming in that direction, you'll see a huge alien facility. Easy peasy!
Simple! Swim north-northwest from the Lifepod until you find the mountain island. Can't miss the giant gun when you get there.
Forget the compass, just look for the big island with the laser gun. Can't get lost!
