Sadly, you can't gift PokeCoins directly in Pokemon GO. However, you can always send an iTunes or Google Play gift card, and they can use that to buy PokeCoins!

Unfortunately, Niantic hasn't allowed direct gifting of PokeCoins so far. Your best bet is trading gift cards for their app store. It's a bummer, I know!
