I always farm in the Ruins using Froggits and Whimsuns. It's not the most efficient, but it's super chill and you can do it early on.
Snowdin Forest is great for farming gold early game. Snowdrakes and Ice Caps drop good amounts, and it's a nice scenic grind!
I usually grind in Waterfall with Moldsmals and Woshua. They have decent drops and it breaks up the gameplay with cute interactions.
Real talk: just play and enjoy the game. Gold will come naturally and you won't burn out on grinding.
