Many players find it comfy to hold the stick in their palm, letting the ball rest between the index and middle fingers. Experiment until you find your sweet spot!
I used to struggle with this too! What helped me was the 'wineglass grip'鈥攈old the stick like you're holding a wineglass, with the base of your thumb on the ball top.
Just grab the fightstick however it feels comfortable. Street Fighter鈥檚 about having fun, not hand cramps!
