Using the hold breath feature is crucial! When the game prompts you, hold the button it says until you're safe. Released mine too early once...big mistake!
In The Quarry, when you need to hold your breath, hold down the action button (usually spacebar on PC or X/A on controllers) and release it when it's safe!
You just wait until the on-screen prompt, press the hold breath button, wait for the danger to pass. Game does the rest. Easy peasy.
Just press the prompt when the screen tells you. Seriously, it's that simple!
