How to host your own Terraria server
ScoldingIrony路8 months agoHosting your own Terraria server is pretty straightforward! First, open Terraria and click on 'Multiplayer', then 'Host & Play'. Choose the character you wanna play with, select the world (or create a new one), and set a server password if you want it private. After setting it up, just tell your friends your IP address so they can join. Remember, you need to keep the game running to keep the server live.

Just use Terraria's dedicated server software if you wanna get fancy. Download it from the Terraria website, configure it by editing the serverconfig.txt (like setting up a password, world, max players, etc.), and run the server. Your friends connect using your IP and the port you set. Easy peasy!
Honestly, just rent a server. Less hassle, no need to keep your PC on 24/7, and no dealing with configuring things. Plenty of services out there!
You don't need a server. Just play together online with Steam's invite system. Way easier.
