How to Install Windows on Steam Deck SSD
RegulatingHale路7 months agoYou gotta start by creating a Windows installation media on a USB drive. Restart the Steam Deck, enter BIOS, and boot from the USB. Follow the Windows installation prompts, make sure to select the SSD for the installation. Once Windows is installed, you might need to install some additional drivers from Valve's website.

Easiest way: Create a bootable USB with the Windows Media Creation Tool, then boot your Steam Deck from it. Follow the setup and choose the SSD during installation. Done!
Personally, I did it by creating a Windows USB installer, booting into BIOS, and selecting the SSD for installation. Worked like a charm!
Use a Windows 10/11 bootable USB, go to BIOS, choose the SSD for the OS and follow the install guide. Took me an afternoon, but worth it!
Just use a USB installer. Set BIOS to boot from USB, install on SSD. Simple.
