You invite friends through the multiplayer tab in the menu. Make sure they aren’t holding a zombie-themed brunch, though!

To join a friend in State of Decay 2, just get them to host a multiplayer session, and then you can simply open your multiplayer menu and jump right in! It's a zombie party, and you're invited!
