Platform method all the way! Create multi-level platforms to jump around on, and it makes dodging so much easier. Hammered in some campfires for health regen, and it was smooth sailing. Grenades and jester's arrows did the trick for me!
honestly? just get good. king slime is ez mode.
Just build a tall wall and shoot over it. King Slime can't get past solid barriers, so you'll be safe. Easy peasy.
