Shiny Pokémon have a very distinct appearance and sparkle effect when you encounter them. If it glitters, it’s shiny.

Just look for the sparkles when you encounter the Pokémon! If it shines, it's shiny.

You'll know it's a shiny when you encounter it and see that it's a different color than usual. Plus, there's a little sparkle animation when it appears!

I once found a shiny Magikarp. It had a gold color instead of the usual orange, and there were sparkles when it appeared!
