Real talk, just compare the card to one you know is legit. Most of the time, fake cards are super obvious when you have something to compare them to. Colors off? Font looks like it's shouting at you? Probably fake.

First up, check the card texture! Real Pokemon cards have a unique, smooth feel and a bit of a gloss. Fakes are often too shiny or too dull. Don't forget the light test – hold it up to a light; if you can see through it, it's bogus. Also, peep the card borders; genuine cards have clean, even borders. Lastly, the font type and size on real cards are consistent, so any text weirdness is a red flag!

Honestly, it's all in the details. Look at the card art and text. Official Pokemon cards have crisp, clean art and text. If it looks like it was printed on a home printer, you might have a counterfeit on your hands.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
