Honestly, just play it safe and buy from reputable sources if you're not into becoming a Pokemon card detective. Saves you the headache of figuring out if it's real or fake.

Just weigh 'em! Real cards have a specific weight due to the quality and layers of the paper. Fakes often weigh less because they're printed on cheaper material. Not as reliable as the other methods but still a quick check.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy! Look at the card texture and color first. Real Pokemon cards have a distinct smooth feel and the colors are vibrant but not overly bright. If it's too glossy or the images look kinda washed out, you might be holding a fake. Also, check the card's edges. Real cards have clean, neat edges. If the edges are rough or uneven, big red flag there. And don't forget the light test - hold it up to a light. If you can see through it, it's a fake for sure because real Pokemon cards have a layer of black ink in the middle that prevents light from shining through.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
