One quick tip to spot a fake is by checking the card's texture and color. Real Pokemon cards have a distinct smooth feel and vibrant colors, while fakes often feel flimsy and the colors might look dull. Also, look at the card border; real cards have a consistent, clean border. Another giveaway is the font used - if it looks off, you might be dealing with a fake.

Just weigh them! Real cards have a specific weight to them because of the quality paper used. Fakes tend to be lighter or heavier because the counterfeiters don't always get the paper right. Not the most scientific method out there, but it's a start.

Nah, it's all in the holographic pattern for me. Real Pokemon cards that are supposed to be shiny will have a uniform and detailed holographic pattern. If the holo looks like it's just been slapped on, or it's peeling off, big red flag it's a fake.

Honestly, the easiest way is to buy from reputable retailers or directly from the official Pokemon website. If you're buying second-hand, that's where it gets tricky. Always ask for high-quality photos and don't be afraid to question the seller about the card's history!

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
