The real trick is in the tiny details. Each set has a unique symbol on the card, usually at the bottom. Plus, there鈥檚 always a set name and card number. If you're super into collecting, you'll start recognizing the symbols without even trying. I did, and now I can spot a set from a mile away. It's like being part of a secret club!

Honestly, just use an app. There are tons out there that let you scan the card and tell you all about it, including the set. Welcome to the 21st century, my friend!

Easy peasy! Just flip that card over and look at the bottom. You'll find a small symbol there - that's the set symbol. Match it with info online to figure out the set. Also, the card number and set name are often right there too, so you basically have everything you need in the palm of your hand!

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
