To leave combat in Starfield, try boosting your ship's engines to escape the enemy's range and then fast travel to a different system.
Sometimes, just changing your attitude and politely asking the hostile ships to stop attacking you can work wonders... or you know, boosting your engines and running away!
In my experience, evasive maneuvers to increase distance and then jumping to another system usually do the trick. Think of it as a little game of hide and seek!
