First, you'll need to talk to the Alchemist in the Green Zone to start the race awakening quest. Then grind for the materials he requests by defeating specific NPCs or looting chests around the map!
I've leveled up my Mink race by farming NPCs in the New World. Higher level enemies give better XP, so aim for those.
Honestly, just focus on grinding and doing quests. This game is a marathon, not a sprint.
