Yo, just sign in on both your console and app with the same Microsoft account, then tap on the console icon in the app and follow the steps. Simple as that!
From the home screen of your Xbox, go to Settings > Devices & connections > Remote features, then check the box for 'Enable remote features'. Open the app, sign in, and follow the instructions to link!
You don't actually need to do this; you can use the Xbox app features without linking it directly to the console. Just log in with the same account on both.
