To lock onto engines in Starfield, just press and hold the designated lock-on button when you're targeting an enemy ship. You'll see a reticle appear, and once it turns red, congrats, it's locked! Now you can shower it with galactic justice!

You don't need to lock onto engines, just aim for them manually!

From my experience, locking onto engines usually involves getting your ship's targeting system aligned with the enemy. Use the focus or lock-on button, and you should see an indicator when it's successful. Time to turn them into space junk!

Locking onto engines can depend on your ship's equipment, so make sure your gear's up to date for a smoother experience. Hope that helps!
