The simplest way? Use your phone's own screen lock and privacy settings. Locked phone, locked Whatsapp. Easy peasy!
You can lock individual WhatsApp chats by using the built-in App Lock feature, if available. Go to WhatsApp settings > Account > Privacy > Fingerprint Lock, and enable it. Now, whenever you open WhatsApp, it will ask for your fingerprint.
