First things first, make sure your graphics driver is up to date. Old drivers can seriously mess with game performance!
I had the same issue! Switching off V-Sync in the graphics settings boosted my FPS considerably. Give it a try!
If you're on PC, try running the game in Windowed mode instead of Fullscreen. Weirdly enough, that sometimes helps!
My hot take: Upgrade your hardware. Sometimes, the best way to make a game run faster is to get a better GPU or more RAM. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
