First, make sure the game disc is clean and not scratched. Pop it in, and if the Wii's still not reading it, try another disc to determine if it's a console issue. If the disc is fine, check the Wii's sensor bar and connections. A system update might also do the trick!

One time my Wii wouldn't read Brawl, so I restarted the console, and it magically worked! Sometimes a simple reboot does wonders.
