You can simulate a tag team by setting up a Team Battle in Smash mode. Each team can have multiple fighters. Swap control every time you lose a stock!

Go to Special Smash > Custom Smash. Set Stock to 1 and pick a new fighter after each round! Easy peasy!

You can't create a true tag team mode natively in the game. Just rotate players whenever a character gets KO'd. More fun, less menu diving!

I do this all the time with my friends! We call it 'homemade tag team.' Just play a regular match, and every time someone gets knocked out, they switch with a teammate. Keeps everyone on their toes!

Tag team is NOT possible officially in Smash Bros Ultimate. Rotate players after each KO instead.
