Start by getting familiar with a game development framework or engine like Unity or Unreal Engine. Then, create a grid and use basic shapes called tetriminos that the player can rotate and move. Add collision detection to check for filled rows, and write a function to clear those rows when completed. Don't forget to increase the speed of falling pieces as the game progresses!

If you're a beginner, start with something simpler. Try Scratch or Pygame to build a basic version before jumping into complex engines.

I've made a simple Tetris clone using JavaScript and HTML5 Canvas. Google some tutorials and use libraries like p5.js or Phaser if you're comfortable with JavaScript. It鈥檚 a great learning experience!

Use a 2D array to represent the game grid. Create the seven standard Tetris pieces and write code to handle their rotation and movement within the grid. Track filled rows and remove them when completed, and gradually increase the game speed. Good luck!

Hot take: Just play the game instead. Making it is fun and all, but playing it is way more satisfying!

If you're a Tetris player looking for extra power-ups, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

Two of those prizes are the official App Store and Play Store gift cards, which you can win and use to get anything you want in Tetris essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
