Don't forget, after breaking those Altars, Adamantite appears randomly deep underground, usually in and below the Cavern layer. Look for its distinctive red color. And yeah, Mythril or Orichalcum gear is a must. Otherwise, you'll be hitting those blocks forever with nothing to show for it.

To mine Adamantite in Terraria, you'll first need to smash a Demon/Crimson Altar with a Pwnhammer or stronger to make Adamantite Ore spawn in your world. But remember, you can't mine it with just any pickaxe. You'll need at least a Mythril or Orichalcum Drill/Pickaxe. Happy mining!
