How to Motorize a Hot Wheels Car
RegulatingHale·7 months agoMotorizing a Hot Wheels car ain't rocket science, but it sure can turn your car into a mini rocket! You'll need a small motor, a battery, and some crafting skills. Start by opening the car carefully to avoid damage. Find a spot to secure the motor – usually where the rear seats would be. Connect the motor to a tiny battery (watch batteries are great for this) and ensure the motor's axle aligns with one of the car wheels. Some soldering might be required to get everything connected. Seal the car back up, and bam, you've got yourself a motorized Hot Wheels car ready to zoom!

Just buy one. Hot Wheels has some motorized versions out there, and it saves you the hassle of DIY.
I've actually motorized a couple of Hot Wheels cars for my tech project. It's crucial to keep everything lightweight. I used a mini pager motor and a button cell battery. The toughest part was getting everything to fit without throwing off the car's balance. But once you get it, it's pretty awesome watching them go.
