Check your ship's cargo regularly, ensure contraband is stored securely in smuggling compartments if the ship has them, and avoid High Security systems when possible. Or, make sure your ship has a good shield generator and jump away quickly when scanned!
Distraction is key! Engage in a space battle or create chaos nearby to avoid the scan altogether. It's risky, but thrilling!
Just don't carry contraband. Problem solved!
