Trust me, I've done this a dozen times: place your thumbs on the textured grip near the battery cover, apply some pressure, and slide up. Easy peasy!

It's pretty straightforward! Just turn the controller around, find the textured grip near the top, and press down while sliding it upward. Voila, batteries exposed!
