Easy peasy! Just go to your Friends list, find the buddy who sent the present, and tap on the gift box below their name to open it.

Tap on your Trainer's profile icon at the bottom left of the main screen, then navigate to the 'Friends' tab. Select the friend who sent you the present and tap on the gift icon to open it!
