How to Choose a Leader in State of Decay 2
The leader in State of Decay 2 must first reach hero status. You can do this by completing missions and earning influence, then assign them as leader on the community tab.

Just get someone to hero status, pick a specialization, and voil脿, you've got yourself a leader. No rocket science here!
To pick a leader in State of Decay 2, you need to max out one of your community members' hero status and then make sure they have a specialization like Builder, Sheriff, Trader, or Warlord. Head back to your community screen, select the character, and you'll see the option to promote them to leader. Easy peasy, right?
