How to Plant Saplings in Stardew Valley
SigningSpine·8 months agoPlanting saplings in Stardew Valley is pretty straightforward. First, you gotta make sure you have a sapling, which you can buy from Pierre's General Store or occasionally get from other sources. Then, pick a spot on your farm where there’s plenty of space. Saplings need an area of 8 tiles clear in all directions to grow properly. Just equip the sapling, aim where you want to plant it, and click to plant. Remember, it takes a whole season to grow, so plan ahead!

Just dig a hole and plop it in, right? Almost. You need to clear a big space because those trees need room! No other objects or plants within 8 tiles, or it won’t grow. Patience is key - it takes a season to grow.
Don't overthink it. Just clear a space, 8 tiles all around, plant, and wait. Watering? Nope. Trees don’t need it. Just time and space.
Actually, trees in Stardew don't need that much space. I've planted mine with just a few tiles clear and they grew just fine. Sometimes, the rules can bend a little.
