Go to the settings in the game menu and look for the 'Graphics' options. There should be a fullscreen/windowed mode toggle there.

I've had this issue too! What worked for me was adjusting the settings in the game's menu. Look specifically under the graphics tab for a fullscreen option you can uncheck.
