You can't actually play *as* an amiibo in Super Smash Bros 3DS. Amiibos are used to train and level up your own AI fighter, but not for direct control.

To use an amiibo in Super Smash Bros 3DS, tap it on the NFC area of your 3DS. While you can't control it, you can train it and use it in battles!
