To play as Metal Sonic in Sonic Mania, you'll need to get the Sonic Mania Plus DLC, which adds some cool new features and characters. After you have it, just select Encore Mode and keep your eyes peeled for him!

In Sonic Mania, you can't directly play as Metal Sonic, but you can encounter and battle him in Stardust Speedway Zone Act 2. If you're looking to play as him, try a character mod on PC!
